tefillin dates - part one

I was debating whether to write about this site I found a few months ago. http://tefillindate.blogspot.com/

WARNING - before you click away, decide whether you're ok with seeing some very graphic images. CalmKallahs is like Disney compared to this site.

The site description says this: "This blog is dedicated to sex and sexuality in the frum community. We believe the Yeshivish/Chassidish world is too uptight and repressed and we are committed to changing that. The fact is that there is an incredible ammount of premarital sex and fooling around in the frum world but many are afraid to discuss it openly. That is all about to change..."

I hate to even give this site more attention than it already has, considering that I don't necessarily believe in what it is condoning.

But everyone should have an outlet, right?

What bothers me about the site is the way it ridicules religious items. I don't want to get too graphic, but they use sacred religious objects in reallllllllly untznius ways. LOL wow, I found a way to articulate that.

I guess the only way for you to understand what I mean, is to check it out yourself. But don't say I didn't warn you first!

I like to think that I'm not easily offended, but that website really bothered me.

Why do they have to go the extra step with the tallis/tefillin? Go ahead and post pictures of naked frum people (anyone who allows someone to take a picture of them naked should EXPECT those pictures to end up on the internet one day). But why the religious items? I just don't get the point to that.

i don't think you should keep this post. it sends people to a really inappropriate site. Even though you warn people about it, people are curious and will go anyway.

I'm not offended per se by the site., but I still disapprove. It's just that it's gross. It's not sexy or hot or erotic or artsy or pretty or anything good. Sure it's sacrilege to desecrate tefillin, but what really fails is that it's nasty. Compare Leonard Nimoy's book Shekhina. It too has pictures of naked women and tefillin, but it's not gross.

Tefillin and tzitzis are not to be pictured in that way. Yarmulkes and snoods are okay because they are not actual religious articles but simply a means.

Someone once warned me not to check out that site. I can imagine what it has, and the concept disgusts me. And I'm happy to hear that there are other people to that still have their sensitivities of what sounds completely wrong.

Wow!
I heard about Yeshiva guys having sex with seminary girls in Israel away from parents and I even know of Bais Yaakov girls that are sleeping with bochurim in Brooklyn but I never knew it was this extreme. Especially in the CHASSIDISH world.. whodathunkit!

Thanks Maidel. That was a real eye opener! People need to know that this stuff is going on. We just can't deny it and sweep it under the rug in the 21st century. I would advise everyone to check out this site. BUT BE PREPARED! This is not for the faint of heart!!!

I'm just wondering when the Rabbonim will officially ban this site... it's not gonna take long.

I am not against "frum porno" per se...what i am against is the agenda of that website, in that it mixes an anti-frum leadership message with porno. as well as misleads people with false (and potentially libelous) posts. V'DAL

The site was probably created by someone who wants to get back at the chareidi world and the best way for him to do that was by distroying it from within by exposing them to this stuff
