if you count the Jewish months starting from Rosh Hashana (Tishrei), then Av is the 11th month.
that would mean that Tisha B'Av is the 9th day of the 11th month.
Think about how the significance and gravity of Tisha B'Av compares to that of another 9/11 - September 11, 2001.

mike- tisha bav is the 9th day of the 11th month. 9/11/2001 was and is the 11th day of the 9th month. you cant have it both ways unless you are crazy like that and like to come up with theories to fit into judaism.
isn't gematria always adding random zeros and switching numbers around?
boys, stop being so literal. think about what it could mean in the figurative sense.
well then, you can make any gematria work. whats the significance anyway that they have the same numbers? also from the torah's perpspective the months start with nisan so it doesn't matter.
