I've heard the term "tuna beigel" used to describe people: What's that all about?

SupeRaizy, you must be from BP...Since as far as I know, the term is only used there (for people).

SuperRaizy- "Tuna Beigel" is used to describe hocker chassidish guys, you know the ones with the clean kept trimmed beards, who have 2 hatzooolah radios, 3 nextels, and 14 sets of keys (just in case they forgot one at home, on the ambulance, in their brand new souped up infiniti/acura or by the TV with HDTV 120+ channels)

Notageek- they can be from anywhere. Ex-willy residents who live in monsey would definately be called a tuna beigel. :-)

MM- this made me LOL

Thank you Raggedy Nephew for that lovely and very well-articulated definition.

I thought most of you knew what I meant...

I'd say Williamsburg or BP guys that come upstate and hang out with their souped up chevy impalas, or chrismas light acuras/lexuses in the parking lots in woodbourne, kiamesha lanes, the new center 1 while with their wives in the latest fashion and super blonde designer shaitlach- now those are tuna beigels!!

no those are all just hockers.

tuna beigels are the guys who were chasidish, now off the (chasidish) derech, who now matter what they do, they will always call it a 'tuna beigel' (as opposed to bagel)

I'm NOT from Boro Park! (Sniff. How insulting.)
Thanks for clearing up the mystery.
